Today we celebrate #FlagDay! 🇺🇸

Both President Wilson, in 1916, and President Coolidge, in 1927, issued proclamations asking for June 14 to be observed as the National Flag Day. But it wasn’t until August 3, 1949, that Congress approved the national observance, and President Harry Truman signed it into law.

“And this I believe: that the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected. And this I must fight against: any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual. This is what I am and what I am about.”

78 years ago, our freedom was paid for in blood. Remember.

“The road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph. They will be sore tried, by night and by day, without rest -- until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and flame. Men's souls will be shaken with the violences of war. For these men are lately drawn from the ways of peace. They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight to let justice arise, and tolerance and goodwill among all Thy people. They yearn but for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home. Some will never return. Embrace these, Father, and receive them, Thy heroic servants, into Thy kingdom.”

~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

In Flanders Fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place. While in the Sky
The larks still bravely singing, fly
Unheard, amid the guns below.
We are the dead, Short days ago
We lived, felt dawns, saw sunsets glow;
Loved and were loved – but now we lie

In Flanders Field
Take up our quarrel with the foe!
To you from falling hands we throw
The torch, Be yours to bear it high!
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep tho’ poppies blow
In Flanders Field.

~John McRae, 1915

The Leitner XL Gear Pods (Gen 2) are awesome. Gray Man Tactical makes some excellent Molle inserts for them that really increase their utility.

Quality 3M VHB Dual Lock and 3M primer attach them to the walls. The 3M Primer 94 should make a big difference in adhesion here.

Now lots of things can hang on the walls instead of being lumped in a pile, and the Leitner gear bags can still work with the panels in as they take up very little room on their own. Two of these RMP panels were used for each XL Gear Pod.

Surface prep is key. Clean both surfaces with alcohol wipes and then apply the included 3M primer before you apply the 3M VHB Velcro tape.

Grimlocks, 1 inch webbing or Velcro straps can now be used to attach anything and everything. The only limit is your imagination.

It’s nice to have options for load outs and organization.
