TERMS OF SERVICE

American Adventurist was founded as a place to discuss all things outdoor and off road related. Participation here demands an understanding of concepts like respect for others, and common courtesy. Therefore, we have laid out the following
membership requirements:

Forum Rules

1. American Adventurist is apolitical! No politics or religion will be discussed here. Period.

2. We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, sexual harassment, harassment based on gender or sexual preference, any form of discrimination, or any behavior deemed to be intentionally abusive or inappropriate. These type of comments will be deleted on sight and the offender will be permanently banned.

3. We have a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate, sexually explicit material or offensive remarks.

4. We have a zero tolerance policy for drama. If you disagree with someone, if someone is wrong on the internet and you simply must intervene, take it to PM rather than creating public drama.

5. We have a zero tolerance policy for trolls. If you post just to get people riled up, that's a troll. Don't be a Troll.

6. Cite your references, use real data, and give credit to authors and photographers whenever possible.

7. Privacy is important. We will not release any member information unless under court order to do so. Do not post other's personal information online, this includes PM's. We do not monitor private messages, but we will investigate all allegations of PM abuse.

8. All Member complaints need to be communicated privately using either PM or the "Report this Post" feature in XenForo. Members shall receive no more than two warnings (strikes) via PM, or publicly, from a Moderator for violating Terms of Service. Three strikes will result in a permanent ban.

If there are any rules or policies you do not understand, please contact a Moderator.

Forum Etiquette

1. Use descriptive subject lines and research your post. This reduces the chances of double-posting, and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Also, consider which specific forum your topic should be posted in.

2. Bloggers and Outdoor Industry Insiders: We ask that you give us a solid "intro" to your article/blog post etc that includes 2-3 quality photos to illustrate the best of your experience/product and a brief executive summary or synopsis of the subject with your link. This will more than likely encourage our readers to learn more and tells readers you're enthusiastic about ________ and that they should enjoy the subject too.

The Staff

1. Moderators are people just like you. Please treat them with respect.

2. We reserve the right to modify and amend these terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to remain informed of current American Adventurist policies, and it is our responsibility to keep this site safe and fun to use.
