Everything comes down to budget in the end.
I wonder why not a new 4bt? Cummins now sells them in a crate. Hate to buy a vehicle and do all the work required to convert it to a used 4bt which may not run well.
Since these things always cost more than you think. I'd spend the extra for a new engine with warranty. Hate to do all the work and then have a used engine let go on me.

What about considering the new Cummins 2.8? It's already been swapped into everything from Jeep TJ's to Disco 1's to TLC.
