RAX

Adventurist
Here is my new Giant Trance I picked up the other day on its first venture into the dirt. I think my years of hardtails are over. I (and my back) love the plush ride.

Very nice.. I am not going to submit my bike shaped object to this thread, as it's a cheapo that I bought at a yard sale and I haven't had time to ride lately due to work.

Cheap bikes are still bikes, and therefore fun. We love all bikes in this thread! As long as you like to ride it.

My Marin Palisades Trail, just a few random pics, I'll have to take some decent ones next time I ride lol. The second bike in the third pic is my brothers Giant Talon.

Very cool.

I can probably count the Marins I've seen around here on one hand. Not a real popular bike in my area, but they look great!

Do you ride with your seat that low, or was that just for transport?

I just built this up. 2014 Scott Scale 930 Carbon. The PO had picked up a stick and chipped/cracked the frame on a chain stay, I got it real cheap, had it repaired and built using parts from my old Karate Monkey.

Congrats on the frame mtnbike28, that's a really nice setup.

RAX, thanks man. Lol, I was waiting for someone to say something about the seat height. That was a little over a year ago, I really have no idea why it was that low, I think my brother in law had ridden it or something, he's short and its a large frame, I just didn't have a more recent pic.

Very nice, I just picked up a BlackDiamond Overdrive Sport, have been out of the mountain biking thing since I moved from VA to FL in 2011. Since the wife and I have been traveling full-time the past year, I decided it was finally time to get a bike again.

Went with a hardtail 27.5 mostly so I can fit the kiddo's thule seat on the back.

For the wife we picked up a DiamondBack women's Lux Sport

Last November I finally, after almost two decades of wanting and randomly searching, I was able to score a Psycle Werks Wild Hare frame.... my old love of building and riding Mountain Bikes was reborn! After a couple months of tracking down all of the parts to complete the build I amassed enough parts to build 2 Wild hares and tracked down a 3rd frame. Bike #2 is almost complete.... I just need chainrings.... mind you these bikes hail from a bygone era of anodized machined metal bike porn so I had to hop in the ol DeLorean and take a trip back in time.... the maiden voyage made me remember why I fell in love with the ride. ....

That's a score! I recall the days, over 30 years ago, when it was common to see and join some of the bike legends on the trails and back roads of Northern California where I used to live and routinely put 3000 miles +/- on the cyclo-cross and MTB per year. I have the same Ringle stem on my titanium Miyata MTB among other pieces of expensive lightweight 'stuff'... hand-laid carbon fiber, machined titanium and aluminum bits, all done by hand in little shops from Marin County to Santa Clara. It was a good time in the industry then, before the little shops got bought up big conglomerate manufacturers.

Lucky!!!

I have run the whole range over the years... although never moved up to 29'r. A few years back I settled back into a steel hardtail, went singlespeed and will likely never go to anything else. This On One Summer Season has a slack 66 degree head angle and 140 fox forks and it just a pleasure to ride. I am not fast at all, but have a great time, especially when we point down hill.

A few bikes I used to own when I worked at the bike shop a number of years back.

Custom built budget Leader Frame Ultegra:

Fuji Team Pro ( Cat 5 and Cat 4 racer with a different wheelset) Ultegra

Custom built Performance Bike Access XCL frame SRAM X.9/ X.0

Fuji Altamira 3.0 105 (my current and only bike now)

That thing is WILD!

Glad to see we're getting some bike photos in this thread!

This is my favorite bike and just lost 2 pounds of rotating mass by going with a carbon wheel set.
