I do quality resource management and performance improvement for two hospitals in Wyoming that are owned by a large hospital group. Not real exciting for most, but I really like my job.

Army for a few years got out in 97, been in HR for a Govt contractor since 2000 and recently moved over to IT as we implemented SAP for our HR system and now I support that. Been considering becoming an SAP contractor for IBM or Accenture but I would have to be on 100% travel which I would love and hate at the same time but it pays well.

Wow thats good to know, they were our implementation partners and the Accenture project and design lead both loved me; they didnt ask me to go with them when the project was over because of non-compete clauses but basically hinted that if I was ever looking for a job to keep them in mind.

I'm the OTHER kind of tax man. My goal is to make sure no one pays the .gov a dime more than they are required to legally. That said, sometimes I feel like lumberjack; just killing trees and stacking paper. Oh, and I hate the dentist!

Right now, I'm on a special assignment to manage wounded, ill and injured Soldiers as they receive medical care and/or transitioning out of the Army. So, right now, a day on the job looks more like this:

I'm a scientist working with hydrocolloids (water soluble natural polymers) used in food, beverage, consumer, and industrial applications such as oilfield, mining, fabric care, packaging and paper. My academic background is in paper science and engineering. Work here in the US and internationally, with colleagues in Atlanta and San Diego and in Finland, Denmark, France, Germany, the UK, China, and Singapore (and others). Customers everywhere.

Three years with this sub-billion dollar privately held company after twenty plus years with a much bigger major chemical company with a well-known red oval logo. I've reached a level where much less of my work is in the lab now and more leading others.

I've got 23 years with the Sheriff's Office. I've worked the jails, the streets, and detectives. I'm a sergeant currently managing the civil unit, which, given the last several years' economic slide, has been very busy trying to stay safe while completing evictions, serving court papers, and grabbing warrant subjects.

The job has always been my first career choice, but if I had recognized my love of camping and Jeeping back in the day, I think I'd have aimed for game warden or park ranger.

Great thread I often wonder what other people do for work. I am a truck driver for a beverage distribution company and actually a really cool job since Monster Energy is our largest contract I do a lot of special events.

I'm a Sales Rep for a National Equipment Rental Company. Most of our inventory is heavy dirt equipment although we carry everything from small tools to large excavators (350-450 size machines). We deal primarily with construction companies with very little home owner business.

I play with airplanes. I am degreed in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, and currently work as a Systems/Test Engineer. Currently working on the F35 (JSF) Primary Flight Control systems, its def a fun program. Worked lots of commercial/private aircraft controls before that (Learjet 45, Learjet 200, Gulfstream 650, Airbus A350, Mitsubishi Regional Jet, Embraer RJ 170 and 190). F35 is my first military program, for those in industry, you know how different the two worlds are...its kinda fun to play in both. All in all, it’s pretty fun, and pays the bills.
