Project Land Yacht : 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Build.

Looks good. On the inside I would add some quick fists for a shovel and axe mount. I would also just get a couple of more universal plates to not only add rigidity but to have to mount whatever else you desire..... You could add a first aid kit to one :)

YES!! I have been thinking about upgrading my first aid kit.. As of right now, I am thinking about doing 2 gear pods on each side, with one side having maxtrax mounted, and a universal plate with a first aid kit. On the other side, in addition to 2 gear pods, I'd mount up two diesel rotopax fuel containers, and probably another universal mount with quick fists for my shovel and axe...

So, after talking with my inlaws, and coming to the conclusion that the camper does not fit my preferred method of camping (even the wife agreed she preferred the relative ease of tent camping as opposed to loading the camper on and off the truck..) the camper will likely go up for sale, but I did just place an order for this, to compliment my leitner designs acs..

Cvt mt. Denali. It's huge, yes, but so is my truck, and there has been talk of expanding the family yet again, so I wanted to go big the first time.. I went back and forth on the pros and cons of an rtt setup and finally decided that for us, the pros outweigh the cons. Our decision to go with cvt was easy.. #1, the tents were 20% off right now, and 2, I've seen the quality of cvt tents up close. Happy to become part of the cvt family.

I'm thinking I'll post up a seperate thread to see who's interested in helping install the rtt, I'll provide pizza and beer for those who want to help, then maybe after the install we can do an overnighter in big bear to test it out...

I have to get an idea of when the tent will hit my driveway. If I plan appropruately, I can take a Sunday off and we could camp sat afternoon into sunday.

That rack is cool!

I may have missed it through the pages (trying to read while two toddlers are around)... But what lift did you use? Curious what gearing you're running?

Factory gearing, which I believe is 3.73, with a nv5600 6 spd manual. Front springs are Thuren 2" soft ride coils, rear is stick, and I have bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around.

If I'm in California when the install happens and I'm not working I'm game to help. Had a buddy help me install my CVT and we ran across a few time saving tricks.

That would be awesome, and I know Paige would like to see you again. Every time we go camping she asks if Michael is going to be there..

And the Mt. Denali is no slouch, weighing in at 186 lbs, so the more hands I have the better. Once I get an idea of when the tent will be here, I'll post up a thread for an install party.

My weekends are blown for the next three weeks or so but I'll keep an eye out for the tent-raising thread. I'm just down in Victorville so I could come up for a short time even if its just to help with the lift. I can remember a world of difference between 2, 3, and 4 people taking the Flippac on and off.

Perfect. I'm not sure when the tent is even going to arrive, so I will keep you all in the loop. Everything I'm seeing says about a 2 to 3 weeks from order to arrival at my door..

Thanks. I just ordered a set of 17x9 steel wheels for mine.
Yeah.. the bummer is America's tire won't mount a 12.50 wide tire on anything less than an 8" rim, which is why I went with the Cooper's in 315x70x17 instead of my original plan of 35x12.50x17 toyo rts. ..

Went back down to Leitner designs and picked up some goodies for the rack.. I have since moved the other universal mounting plate to the other side so it's next to the gas can, and the other brace to the other side for when I eventually get some maxtrax.. big thanks to Leitner designs for taking time out of his busy schedule to hook me up!!

Big thanks to @Gallowbraid @woodienut and @jismay for coming up to help get this behemoth onto the truck bed rack.. all went pretty well with the exception of needing to go to the hardware store for longer mounting bolts... all in all it worked out great and the family likes it!
