Come on out to camp in Pismo at the Oceano Dunes!
Location:Oceano Dunes SVRA (aka Pisbro, Pismo)
When: May 4th-6th
Duration: Overnighter
Difficulty:2-5 (Scale of 1-10)
Meet Location and Time: Camp location will be back in the dunes TBD depending on number of rigs that want to show up. I'll provide GPS coordinates. (http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1207)
Rig Requirements:
NONE - Really? Yes. For sure? Yes. Your Volvo station wagon is welcome.
You will need an orange flag. Prepurchase on Amazon or buy on the beach. I cram mine in my tailgate. An easy attachment is called a "Stickywhip" (google that)
Suggested vehicle mods (not required):
4x4
Recovery points front and rear
Communication: HAM 146.585
What to Bring with you:
Good attitude and willingness to help out, I am out here to have fun and don't do drama.
Bring food, drinks, Sunscreen, personal toiletries (there are vault toilets), shade (tarp, awning, EZ Up - there is no shade available).
Recovery gear if you have it (mostly a strap and recovery point is the most important).
Feel Free to ask questions, I am sure I forgot something.
We'll plan to cruise the dunes, ride motorcycles (if you have one), check out the sand drags, and share stories around a campfire. We always watch the sunset go down. We can get creative with a potluck or bbq competition. (There are also many restaurants within a 5 minute drive)
