I have been having some significant play in my Gladiators steering. Visiting the various Jeep forums confirms that this is not an isolated situation.
Various fixes have been proposed but in my research they are a band aid at best.
Well a couple of days ago Jeep announced a TSB to replace the steering gear with a newly designed one. The original one is housed in an aluminum case and attached with aluminum bolts. The new one is housed in steel with steel bolts (not sure what internal changes have also been made). The results from those that have had this done is very positive.
