how can I seal a leaking roof?

I bought an 8'x10' pole tent at a yard sale and found out after I set it up that the roof is somewhat leaky. I tried a few coats of waterproofing spray but I'm afraid that it didn't do the trick. I don't want to cover it with a tarp, although that may be my only option. Anyone know of any cheap and effective things to use?

is it just the seams or the entire roof. If its just the seams you can rub shoe goo into them and let it dry.

if it is a porous material, plain old dry silicone spray will more than likely work, set up the tent, give it a few good coats, and let it dry. they need to be kind of heavy coats though.

I use something from work called called Ultra-Sil made by http://www.nexgenproducts.net/ but any dry silicone spray should work the same

Will have to try these products probably next spring. Its starting to get cold here in West Virginia so I probably won't have it out till next spring! Thanks for the help guys!
