Four Wheel Camper Swift on a...

Yeah where's your build thread? :D
I actually have one on here. I guess I need to work on getting it up to speed.

Hopfuly these few shots can hold every one over until I get a better cell coverage.

So far my only major issue with the camper has been with the refrigirtor. When I the camper was installed and the walk through was conducted we found out that the fridge would not work with 12v but it would with 120. The dealer was stumped and sent me on my way. After talking with FWC they suggested that I check the to see if the 12v power was hooked up wrong. Turns out it was!

After getting this little issue fixed at camp one night we noticed that when the fridge door was closed it was not sealing properly.

Still have not had a chance to dig into it and figure out how to adjust the door. Hopefully after our trip is over I will be able to figure it out.

A little bit out of order but here are a few photos of the installation. The first mod to the camper was to change out the rubber cab bumps to a lower profile one so that the camper would sit closer to the head board. We also test fit a Honda EU2000 to see if it would fit under the side of the camper.

Shortly after getting the camper put on i realised that the new leafs on there own where not going to cut it. I forgot to take I to account that I would lose a LOT of up travel in the rear. I put a set of firestone no drill airbags in. Since I could not get a pair of daystar airbag cradles we just left the bottom bolt out on the bag. It's not ideal and I had the bag come off the perch twice but, it let us keep on the road with minimal down time.

Right now my plans for the rear are to get the cradles, an add a leaf and possibly a one inch lift block. It's going to be a while before getting the flatbed modified will be in the budget.

I think I would consider custom leaf springs over a lift block and an add a leaf, you're in this deep, no point in cutting corners now!

I've never seen a graded bolt with those markings on them either. I'd also consider some graded bolts, grade 5 if they are standard, M8 if metric.

The leaf pack is a new one and was fairly pricey so I would rather not jump straight to replacing it if possible . The add a leaf is designed for it and is for increased weight. So hopfuly it will be all that's needed. If not then I will look into having a set made. I never did like the thought of an add a leaf.

Your truck and camper setup is making me think more about using a pickup for a camping. The dog appears to approve of your choice too. As a secondary observation, what do you think of the skottle?

We absolutely love the skittle! So much so that it is even used at the to cook at the house on a regular basis.

Started playing with some aluminum for the sides of the flatbed today. Thinking about mounting the maxtrax to the sides but still not quite sure I know how i want to do it yet.

I like the look of the aluminum sides, but I won't uses the c channel for it. Thinking of eather useing diamond plate, some sorta mesh or possibly strips of aluminum.

Stacked a few more just to see what it would look like with a higher side.

Started fabricating some awning brackets for the right side of the camper. Dave gave me a great idea for a larger shower room.

This would have almost worked but it was a bit to wide. So I went to trimming it down. Ended up trimming a bit more than I intended but it's still plenty strong and should work well for the ARB awning.

If the drivers side awning works out well I will spend the time to make a set of better looking brackets.
