That turned out nice. Have you considered putting a second plate under it connected at a single point that would allow it to turn to face driver or passenger? Also how did you cut the curved steel?

i thought about it but i did this on the quick. both me and my passenger could easily see it the way it is right now so i doubt i will change it. but.... after this weekends trip i do know that 1) i need a better gps antenna and 2) i need to reinforce it a bit because it bounces a lil too much for my liking. hoping to get this done before Desert Rendezvous

ok so today i didnt get a whole lot done but i got some more cross bars installed the rack, i sanded it smooth with 80grit (going to go up to 150 grit before i paint) and i added my light mount tabs for the 50" light bar that came in the mail today....

Todays progress so far
I finished grinding and sanding, added the angle pieces that go from the top bar down to the bottom near the light bar and i have done 2 coats of primer so far

Looking good brother!!
Thanks....

tomorrow my buddy is going to come help me take the shell off my truck so i can get this thing mounted and finished up. hopefully ill have it painted and mounted by thursday evening.. that will leave me with enough time to get my decked system installed and the awning to the back of the rack.

Coming along nicely, Raul!

Interested to see how much of that light will be shadowed by your cab. In other words, is it high enough?

Yah I was wondering these too. I guess we will see haha. The middle are spots and the outside edges are flood pattern

Being back far enough might prevent hood glare, so the position might be a good thing.

Looking forward to your first test results.

im finally done!!!

man this thing took forever to make but i think it came out great. let me know what you guys think.
i have a 50" lightbar on the front and a ironman canopy on the rear. im going to mount an axe and shovel on either side of the rack.

Looks good. That rack came out very nice. I like the 'beaver step' in the hitch too.

Looks great. Nice job on the rack. It's always great to see people building parts versus buying them.
