Christmas catalogs.

One of the best part of Christmas, for me, as a kid, were the Christmas catalogs from Sears and Monkey Wards. I would spend hours poring over them. Toy soldier sets - The Alamo, Western Forts, Castles, etc. - and Matel Fanner Fifty cap guns - not just "six shooters" but also lever action carbines and snub nose detective guns, and on and on.

Just out of curiosity, I looked on Ebay to see if old ones were available. The actual old catalogs seem to be quite pricey, but I see someone is selling USB sticks with electronic versions of the old ones. I may order one just for the nostalgia.

Btw, for all you Star Wars fans, I see there is a 78 catalog available with all the first generation Star Wars toys . . .

We received a paper catalog in the mail for AMAZON this year.
No prices, links to go check online but it was a paper catalog (from the people who probably did the most to kill paper catalogs).

I still enjoy flipping through paper catalogs from Cabela's and the like. As a kid we always looked forward to the Sears Christmas Wishbook catalogs too.

My latest Filson catalog was filled with hipsters. Wool for the man-bun crowd
