My buddy found a cap on craigslist for his 98 Dodge 1500 for $115. So a $5115 truck does not need an expensive thuleyakimacargomaster lipstick on a pig rack, so I built this. It is 1.25 box and would have been super cheap but he wanted fancy gussets. I beveled the uprights to match the slope of the cap. I put a strip of rubber under each foot. The tie downs are just extra u-bolts I had laying around.
