Random ADVENTURE Photos!

I miss film. The whole process, but also the end result. Sure, we can get pretty close in Lightroom/Photoshop, but it's never quite the same.

No, it's not the same. Using film puts a tactile sense to the process, the muscle memory of loading and unloading, the sound of the winder, the smell of developer. The whole thing from beginning to end slows way down and puts you out of the mode of instant gratification. Besides, I love the not knowing until the negative is developed.

Your new site looks great BTW.

Thanks. I need to write more. Hopefully soon. Haven't forgotten about a few of the ideas we've talked about.

Truck should be mostly ready in a month. Thinking about possibly heading your way for a shake down run.

Outside my home office window right now...

For the past week, my youngest has been over at the Wings Museum for an aviation/space camp. Super cool and we hadn't really ever been over there even though it's literally 2 minutes from our house. Yesterday was the last day of the came so, they let us come over and wander the hanger for a couple of hours for a kind of open house. Reminded me of all the air shows I went to as a kid. The best one being out at El Centro. The Angels did stuff out there that I've never seen anywhere else. Needless to say, I was super stoked to walk in and see a B1 looming over everything...

Then, hiding in the back corner, was this masterpiece.

Awesome photo. Where is it?

Thanks. It's one of my local mtb loops. Not difficult but a nice 15 miles or so to stretch the legs and lungs and get away from the day job for a bit. A few climbs. Couple of short fun descents. It's just outside of Boulder. The view is of the Flatirons. Lots of great hiking up there and one of my favorite spots. Waiting for fall to kick in a little more then I'll put more time in with the boots and a little less on the bike.

Transformers aside, it’s still one of my favorite pieces of architecture. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch it this week with the ‘wings’ open.

^^^^I'd never seen that building, or heard of it until just now. Did a Google search...that is indeed a cool building. The wind force has to be huge when the "wings" are opened. I'm sure someone a lot smarter than me figured out how much wind it can handle.
