In the style and basic design George Dyson recreated ocean going kayaks much like the Eskimo, Inuit, Haida and many other NW costal Indian cultures used to fish and hunt animals like seal, walrus and whales. Instead of traditional materials like wood and seal skins, George used Aluminum Tubing, stop signs and synthetic materials to make his Kayaks. He published a great book called Baidarka and he sell plans for some of his designs. These boats are literal works of art and fully functional ocean going craft. The last picture is a very real cata-kayak he designed.
