The Ground Rules:
1. Common Sense.
2. Respect for Others.
3. Self Sufficiency.
4. Tread Lightly.
5. Leave it better than the way we found it!
6. Speed limit in camp is 5 mph, strictly enforced for safety (kids, dogs). Make no dust.

Additional information for Rendezvous Participants:

● DO NOT leave any trash behind. No garbage, not even in the metal cans, will be left on site. Pack OUT what you pack in!
● Please greatly reduce your speed whenever you are driving in and out of the venue or when traveling on local roads to recreation sites.
● All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, no exceptions.
● No open fires. Period!
● Alcohol is prohibited during scheduled Rendezvous activities (classes, trail runs). If you feel the need to ignore this rule on the trail or elsewhere you will be asked to leave.
● Firearm laws of the State of California are observed. There are no shooting activities at this event and no firearms are to be discharged on BSA properties.
This is not an RV event. RV's, toy haulers, traditional camper trailers, 5th wheels, and Class A or C motorhomes are not allowed.
● No generators please. Enjoy the sounds of the forest and new friends!
● No other motorized vehicles such as quads, SXS or ATVs are to be used on the BSA properties without the express permission of the staff.
● OHVs are expected to have common safety equipment and must be registered and insured in accordance with the owner/operators state to operate on CA roadways. Additionally, vehicles should be similarly equipped with front and rear recovery points as well as winch/recovery equipment based upon the trails and conditions.
● Flush toilets are provided at this venue.
● Potable water access will be available.

A NOTE ABOUT VENDORS:

While this is not a commercial event, in keeping with the tradition which began at the first SoCal Desert Rendezvous back in 2011, vendors are encouraged to attend and if they happen to sell a few things to friends out of the back of their rig that's their beeswax. Just no tables, Ezy-ups etc. Again, this is not a commercial event this is just for fun.

Vendors in attendance are however expected to support the raffle.

Vendors are people too and I know they look forward to events where they can unwind and just be themselves vice SEMA, Overland Expo, Outdoor Retailer etc. That's what the Rendezvous events are all about so if you work in this industry, but don't want to work, come on out!

If you are a vendor and are interested in getting in on sponsorship or the raffle please contact me via PM... thanks.

**************************************************

Big thanks to all the great folks that help make these events possible!

TRAIL RUN ETIQUETTE

Rendezvous trail runs require driving in groups throughout the duration of a given trail. We are likely to be on public lands, and we anticipate other vehicles may be in the area where we are. It is important that we respect others access in these areas while we minimize our own impacts on the environment we are enjoying. Each time a convoy is formed, ensure that all participants in the convoy are aware of basic convoy procedures. These include:

• Who is lead?
• Who is tail?
• Who will close any gates, if required?
• All radios must be switched on and monitored, avoid unnecessary chatter
• Headlights on always
• At all times, ensure that the vehicle in front can see the vehicle immediately behind
• If you cannot see the vehicle immediately behind you, stop and allow the convoy to reform
• Communicate incoming traffic
• Communicate turns at intersections and that vehicles wait at intersections for the following vehicle
• Tread Lightly! Pack out what you pack in!

WE TREAD LIGHTLY!.jpg

I4WDTA BASICS: Emergency STOPA Process

Should an emergency or Unsafe Condition be encountered by any person at this event, A STOPA process must immediately be activated (Air Horn, Vehicle Horn, “FREEZE”) – STOPA:

1) Stop
Stop your vehicle or whatever you are doing immediately. Ensure you are safe and proceed to make the immediate area around you safe.
*Vehicle - Driver to secure vehicle and lock down (vehicle in park with park brake engaged, engine off and chock wheels). Close all doors when exiting the vehicle. Leave keys in the ignition.
2) Think
Take a deep breath. Exit the vehicle if you can do so safely. If you cannot exit safely, remain where you are. Do not rush, remain calm.
*Driver is first person in and last person out of the vehicle after securing the vehicle. Driver decides on a vehicle exit strategy.
3) Observe
Process what you observe. Assess any potential threats. How can you assist best? What action is required now? Is someone in charge of the situation?
*Look for direction from the assigned safety person, if there is no assigned safety person, assume the role.
4) Plan
Think about how you will aid. - CPR, 911, Crowd Control, Log Timeline, EMS directions to scene etc.
*Delegate responsibilities for plan.
5) Act
Carry out the plan, be ready to adapt the plan.

I'm in! Paypal transaction #20701943261257065.

In addition to my Tundra and Toyhauler I'll be bringing a dualsport motorcycle (WR450) and potentially either a mountain bike or a kayak. Looking forward to seeing you all this year!!

A logistics question, because I can't picture the road right now: Is there parking within walking distance of the event site?

We do not want to RVSP for two vehicles, since we'll be camping entirely out of just the one, but due to school schedule this year, my wife/daughter may not be able to arrive until 36-ish hours after I would like to. It'd be swell if they could join me without me having to depart to go get them.
