I know that guy and he actually did it. He went up about 1200 feet if I recall correctly. He saw some curvature and decided the earth isn’t “flat” it shaped like a frisbee. True story.

If he actually survived, I’d call that a success. Would have been much easier to just book a cheap frontier flight.
