Tire Recommendation: Asking for a Friend

4x4x4doors

Adventurist
Buddy that rides with me, usually on the East Coast beaches and occasionally in National Forests roads has a 2016 Forester. He's due for new tires soon (45K miles) and was asking for recommendations.
Factory size is 225/60R17 Yokohama.
He's looking for something a bit more aggressive traction-wise but still quiet and smooth for his many street miles with clients in the car.
Any thoughts to share with him based on experiences good or bad would be appreciated.
My own personal experience is based on mid-size trucks/SUVs which almost always are whatever it had on it when I bought it or the go-to replacement of current BFG AT KO and I'm thinking those may be a bit overkill for his usage.

The Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 fits the bill for what he is looking for.
