In the north part of the state, the park features a 600-foot granite dome, water falls, hiking trails, (including a backpack in area), rock climbing and a family campground. The Stone Mountain Loop Trail is just under 5 miles and has several spurs for waterfalls, creeks and a historic family homestead.

Just to clarify, because this confused me as well... This is Stone Mountain State Park in North Carolina, the Stone Mountain Park in Georgia has the cool ass carvings in it. I haven't been there yet either but really want to go.

Thats Georgia.. the one in NC is just a big rock with no carvings.

I have been to both, the one in NC has more to offer.... PS BushHead, great photos, I still don't know where the cave or that slide waterfall is in the park. I assume teh waterfall is not one of the two that the stairs go to....

The 1st blurry pic of me and Izz is at the widow creek falls..The pic with me wearing that green shirt is at the bottom of all those steps.
