Any reason I can not buy new U bolts and flip this? I want to mount the springs on top so the tongue matches up to the truck better.

That looks like the bottom of a M416 or a M100?
I flipped my springs/axel

That's similar to a 416 but looks like the tires are completely underneath the trailer. That being said-That's a easy flip. Like 100Acre stated the setup is one that closely resembles that of a M416/M100 that when get redone quite a few people flip the axle to achieve a raise out of the suspension. I say go for it.

No reason at all , I've done it to 2 of my trailers . Any RV or trailer shop should have new u-bolt . I would even check your local parts store too.

The only reason not to and I'm not sure it applies to you... Some axles are arched in the middle and have spring perches welded on. When you flip the axle you change the camber angle because the arch is now down instead of up. You can still flip an arched axle, but you have to cut off the perches and re weld at 180 degrees. Your picture does not have a spring perch, so you are probably good.

Thanks1 It is a 1966 pop up camper that belonged to my grandfather, now it's a utility/kayak trailer that one day will be the frame for a teardrop....

You will more than likely need a new pin but you can use an allen bolt.

I did on my trailer and added perches to control axle wrap.
