Growing up in Manitoba, it was easier to travel around N.D & S.D.
I've been to Mt. Rushmore ,Wall Drug ,Mitchell Corn Palace, Badlands ,Deadwood , and of course Sturgis ,
even Flintstones Bedrock City. lol
It's an amazing state with a lot to see

Every time I think of how cold it is in the Dakotas, I remember that they are both still south of Canada...BRrrrr!

Was in South Dakota a few weeks back as my daughter is stationed at Ellsworth AFB. Went to a lot of the places that were open. Actual "tourist" season does not begin until end of May.

Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Badlands, and Sturgis with a few smaller mixed inbetween. Definitely going back! Beautiful state.

And did I mention those "DOTS" pretzels? OMG!!

Edit: The quote didn't stick. I am referring to the Crazy Horse monument that Bob asked about.

Yes, but it was in 1984. The "monument" was a rock outcrop with a levelled off area that would be the upper surface of his arm. Below that was a hole blasted through that was the the start of the empty area under his arm. Not real impressive back then.
