A good reminder to travel prepared and stay with your vehicle.

DEATH VALLEY, Calif.

A woman whose body was found in the Death Valley National Park appears to have died from heat exposure after her car became stuck in some loose sand.

The woman who is identified as 40-year-old Pi-Wei Hun left was reported missing in Sunday, Aug. 28 after she left Las Vegas and did not show up in Fort Irwin, California.

Her car was discovered in the southern end of the park near the unpaved Harry Wade Road. It appeared she got stuck while trying to turn around and then attempted to walk out. Her body was found about five miles away. The temperature was around 113 degrees on the day she was traveling.

Makes you wonder if there was any foul play afoot? Most folks wouldn't take a CAR off road (alone) into Death Valley (in the summer)..... unless they're COMPLETELY stupid, suicidal or both....

Harry Wade Road is usually in pretty good shape, graded dirt road. She must have dropped off onto a soft shoulder. No idea why she would have gone over 5 miles up the road before deciding she was going the wrong way.
