First build

I’m currently working on my first build. I did a lot of restoration on a previous homemade rig I had, but this is my first that I built myself so I may need some help/advice at some point. It all started with a 5x8 trailer that I picked up cheap used for $250. Then basically just marine plywood floors & walls, 2x4 framing, painted walls with multiple coats of primer & exterior paint, some simple electrical work for shore power or generator in mind, AC unit, insulated walls, interior paneling, capret, & trim. That’s about where I’m at right now. Will have to get metal roof & side trim & everything sealed up soon. I don’t do much overland camping aside from maybe a hay field or dirt road designed for normal vehicle traffic, so not sure if I’m going to modify the axel, suspension, or tires much. May go to an all terrain tire when it comes time for new ones just for the look, but that’s about it. Well, here it is from the beginning & in its current state.

Boats on the roof?
Definitely want to ad a rack on the roof. I’ve got racks on my truck where the kayaks usually ride if we’re towing a trailer, but I want the option to put them or other gear up there too. Also want them to have the option to add a tent at some point if we ever decide to sell our larger camper.

Good sturdy build and good looking interior. Well suited to your described use in my opinion.
Thanks buddy!!! It’ll mostly be used for established campsites/campgrounds with shore power. Maybe occasionally an off grid site, that’s easy enough to get to even in a 2wd truck, &/or one with no electrical so the small Honda generator may be needed.

Added a shelf above the AC to store a few things on & put a wood dowl on one side to hang a few clothes on.

Also put a jack on it & scrounged up a rim a coworker had laying around to add a spare.
