Most of you guys know me as Overlandphotography on Instagram and or Nicholas from past meets/events I've been MIA for along time and now that I have sometime on my hand on the tail end of this deployment, I thought it would be fitting to show you guys that the HMLA is still relevant. We are doing a standard rotation right now in Japan as a show of force to anyone. A little background on me for those who do not know me. I'm a 6154 AH1z and UH1y airframes mechanic. If anyone on this thread was or is an airframes its not hard work but it can be. We deal with the skin of the aircraft, the major hydraulic components, and flight control systems of the aircraft. Enough about that here is what our Squadron has accomplished on 31st MEU. Not one flight was dropped during our time on land and on the boat. Anyone that has be an aircraft mech on deployment knows that these aircraft and mistreated and ran into the ground due to flight ops and mechanical issues.
Flight hours 390
Flights 190
Nautical miles traveled 10k

Thanks for the photos.

We had 262 along on a float I did back in the 90s. I caught a few rides in their Hueys back in the day, but they didn't look like the guy in your photos.

Former 4341 with 26th MEU back a few years. Our CO was from the wing so I spent a lot of time riding in his UH1W on deployment taking photos. Your photos brought back memories, thanks! Stay safe. SF.
