American Adventurist is excited to go back to North Carolina again in 2018 for the 3rd Annual 36 Hours of Uwharrie!

WHAT IS 36 HOURS OF UWHARRIE?

36 Hours of Uwharrie is a “military themed” back-country endurance challenge. Two-person teams accumulate points by completing missions including precision off-road driving, vehicle recovery technique, canoeing, competitive marksmanship, and competitive clay shooting. The 2017 event pushed competitors to their physical and mental limits, those that finished felt a great sense of accomplishment. Even more will be asked of the teams in 2018.

Teams must be self-sufficient as they navigate their vehicles to compete in events including Hi-Lift Jack Challenges, Extreme Degree Hill Climbs, Low Visibility Fording, Self-Recovery Winch Challenges, and much more. Teams must also complete a series of paddling and shooting objectives before teams are eligible to compete head to head in the “BFGoodrich Final Assault”. Winning teams walk away with high value prizes in addition to bragging rights. All teams that complete the event walk away with pride & respect.

Are you driver enough?

Quick shoutout, 36 Hours of Uwharrie are sending our first “call for volunteers”, as volunteers are the gears that make this event happen every year. This year will be no different and we DO need and want your help and involvement. The event in 2018 will be on August 9-11 at Uwharrie and will bring new team, new and exciting missions, and more involvement from the community.

Volunteers will have their own camping area, t-shirts, raffle, training for your work, and a special volunteer day at the awesome Big Creek Trail System among other “thank you” for helping. If interested, please reply or send an email to izzysanchez1@icloud.com. More information and detail will be forthcoming. And thank you all who have volunteered in the past!

That’s some pretty cool news Izzy, thanks for posting that. The Volunteers really are important, and it’s great to see them being recognized and rewarded more and more each year.

:thumbsup

Amazing opportunity for anyone who wants to see this machine and North Carolina from the insiders perspective!
