So the time is finally come for me to make improvements. Well, at least get them installed and working in the right direction. First order of business is to switch out the bumper for Baja designs lights. Not too complicated. Still have to get the lights mounted and wired.

Next, I need a whole new rack actually meant to do the type of work I need a rack to do for my truck. The mini Cooper sized rack that I have has got to go.

I'm just go with them because they have The possibility to go with so many accessories. Plus they have a 600 pound capacity on the rack with an easy integration of my Baja Designs lights.

So it's off to Happy Town for me. Honestly, I way prefer the lower profile of this rack that's extremely sturdy. Also, when it comes to risks, this rack seems to be the better bet. My truck is very tall, taller than most vehicles, and tree branches are common impact point for things on top of my truck. Because this rack is bolted together, And actually seems pretty modular. If I were to damage it on any side, I can order up a replacement piece and have a back in working order. Also, unlike other racks, the shipping for this rack is far less expensive because it doesn't take up as much space.

Oh so much more to come...

Very nice!

We will be changing from a SMB to possibly a full size very soon... I've only got two kids though (3 and 1).

But, I do gotta say, I hope you never have to change that spare... I have a difficult enough time getting my 33" off the back of the SMB.
Haha...That's why we did the rear bumper with the tire swing.

One light wired... I may have hit some mud on the way home… The darndest thing

Swapped out the steering stabilizers of course

Hey Mike,

Yeah, that was something I was afraid to do at the time as I was quite a ways from the nearest town/air compressor. Since then, I went out and bought a Viair 10007 constant duty onboard air compressor which is good for 37" tires.

Another precaution, I got myself a m12000 Warn winch...because...like I explained to Chelsea...I...uh...needed it.

After a recent trip to Anza Borrego (just after Overland I think) I actually put it to use. It took about 5 min per tire after airing down to about 35psi I think (my 35x12.5 18s are E rated and set up to 65psi). It was hot. Anza Borrego no water in the air I forgot my chap stick hot. 5 minutes per tire (I dont know about you but I have four (4) tires on my truck) felt like an eternity.....

ALSO, next week, I am having a new DUAL compressor Viair 444C installed for faster filling and a [don't tell anyone] secret install for the future. Toot Toot

Great write up Nate. Thanks for documenting your journey.
I'm thinking of installing onboard air on my F-350 CC also and was wondering how you are liking the 444C?

LED lights with a lens dispersing pattern. Bracket for flush mounting. They are for your truck to provide enhanced nocturnal illumination.

Next.

Ha no. But you still haven't guessed where they are going [emoji12]
Oh that's great... change the rules now... "What's this," and "...what these are for." :wow

I have a suggestion where you can put those flippin' lights... :tango

Next time I'll play the PowerBall... better chances! o_O

Can you show more photos of the rack feet? I am thinking you have a snugtop with Yakima track? Was hoping to do the same. What size rack tray is it? Seriously envious of your mod budget! I need a better financial planner!

Sorry. Been a bit busy pulling my non existent hair out.

The feet are mounted to the Snugtop rails. It's the biggest one Front Runner Outfitters makes lol.

I'm not sure what you plan on putting it on, but I had Yakima and prefer the Fron Runner Outfitters rack. It's much...way more modular and has a 600lb capacity (but only go as high as the cap says on road). They even have GoPro mounts (I got 2 haha)

I have an A.R.E. cap that came with Yakima roof rails, foot pods, rails and bars. Would that basket fit into Yakima roof rails?
