Dutch Oven Recipes

This one's easy. Cowboy Casserole

1/2 lb BACON
1 lb lean hamburger
1 small onion chopped
2 cans baked beans w/pork
1/3 cup bar-b-q sauce
1 pkg. refrigerated biscuit dough

Cook bacon in dutch oven, when browned cut to bite size set aside.
Cook hamburger and onion in oven, when browned stir in bacon, beans and bar-b-q sauce bring to a boil.
Remove some coals to slow down cooking and layer the biscuits over the mixture, cover and cook till biscuits are done.
Put a couple of biscuits on a plate and spoon mix over them.
I've done this with cornbread instead of biscuits and sourdough rolls cut in half to make bread bowls, spoon in mix.

You can also make biscuits at home, split and spoon hot mixture over them in camp.

Serves 4 or 2 pretty hungry

As with most any kind of food, cold beer goes well with.
