Making American Adventurist Better: An Ongoing Discussion

Pretty happy with it, myself. Growth would be good, until we all start complaining about how much nicer it was when it was small. I know you guys are working on getting the word out. I think as the state threads get more content it'll become a huge resource.

Bumping this up, what would you guys like to see here on the Forum? We're listening :)

How about explosions, lots of automatic weapons fire, and car chases? That always livens up movies.

OK, I got nothin.

I think its pretty good so far. As it grows some, it will change some, hopefully positively, though no doubt there may be some negative things come around at times. Thats what mods are for though.

I like how it is. There seems to be just enough new members and plenty of experienced members providing content. Keep up the good work. Growth will happen after any event where people have a good time.

The planning, trip reports, and after action reports are my go to reads. I do a whole lot more lurking than posting as I've spent the last 4 months organizing and coaching ladies lacrosse.

I'm already prepping my trip report for Moose on the Loose and hopefully will have a "small" after action report. I'll also be transferring some content on my trailer from another forum as I hope to spend some time modding that prior to Appalachian Rendezvous, and for a trip I am working on for Nova Scotia in '16.

Keep the faith

Great input Gents, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.

Sifting through 50 states is a bit awkward as they will be randomly placed based on most recent post. Any way to keep them organized in some way regionally or alpha order maybe?

I'd like to see the Vendor Marketplace moved to the top of the forum instead of the bottom. The vendors work hard to not only promote and grow the community of adventurers but also AAV itself. Having that section at the bottom of the forum causes it to be overlooked since so many of us are more focused on the items at the top of the board. Just my $.02 worth.

I feel just the opposite, I don't want to wade thru a mass of advertising just to get to posts. Trick would be finding a happy medium that we all can live with. Glad it's not my decision

The marketplace only have three sub forums. It would not inconvenience too many folks to relocate a little higher. I personally log in, and whack the "New Posts" button anyways.

Good ideas guys. We all thank you for input and will review ideas and suggestions.

that is the same for me, the only time I go through the sub forum list is if I am looking for a particular thread. Otherwise it is straight to the new posts, that way I see everything

Definitely not suggesting wading through a mass of advertising to get to posts. What I'm suggesting is merely moving the Vendor Marketplace area from the bottom, not integrating it into main threads.

Ha! I never even noticed that option until seeing y'all post it here. I've always just gone straight to the Bonfire and then work my way down the main forum to each category to see if there's a sub-forum with a subject that looks interesting. That said, I'm curious how most people are actually using the forum. Maybe a subject for another thread.

Frank, I always hit "New Posts" and take it from there. I never browse through the topics on the forum main page. If any of the vendors post something new, I see it in new posts and click on it if I am interested.
